Paul Heppenstall, is Professor of Neurobiology at SISSA in Trieste and Scientific Co Founder of Borea Therapeutics. He is an internationally recognized neuroscientist with over twenty years of experience in sensory neuron biology, nociception, and pain mechanisms. Author of more than 60 high impact scientific publications, he previously served as Group Leader at EMBL. His research has laid the conceptual foundations for innovative neuronal targeting and precision delivery strategies, which underpin Borea’s proprietary AAV conjugation platform.

Niccolò Bacchi, PhD MBA
CEO
Niccolò Bacchi, is CEO of Borea Therapeutics and an entrepreneur in the life sciences sector. He has solid experience in early stage company creation and growth, with a focus on advanced therapies and delivery technologies. With a combined scientific and managerial background, he has worked across venture capital, academia, and industry, leading fundraising activities, industrial partnerships, and corporate development. At Borea, he drives the company’s strategic vision, operational execution, and global positioning of its proprietary technology platform.

Greta Rossi, PhD
R&D Project Manager
Greta Rossi, is R&D Project Manager at Borea Therapeutics, with over ten years of experience in biomedical research across academia and industry. She has strong expertise in gene therapy vector development, process translation from bench to manufacturing, and coordination of complex R&D programs. Her background includes preclinical and translational research in neurological and genetic diseases. At Borea, she oversees R&D activities and supports the scientific advancement and industrialisation of the company’s conjugated AAV platform.
